About
I was born curious, raised in observation and contemplation. I studied philosophy, but it was through a serious illness that my pictorial ability revealed the talent and mission of my life: to be a painter.
I work with two great themes: the urban landscape, which I paint in oil or acrylic, and botany in watercolour. The city is my living environment, and I am passionate about nature.
I have eyes of the South, but always looking North. In Finland, I saw the Nordic light that awakened in me the desire to paint—and to paint it. I am still chasing that dream. And I carry “sisu.”
Education and training
Graduate in Philosophy. Began painting in 1990; drawing (1991, University of Helsinki); watercolour (University of Glasgow); oil (1992, Sant Cugat del Vallès and Barcelona). Esfera d’Art Academy-Workshop (1992–2004, Sant Cugat). Urban landscape (2005 with Manuel Ruiz-Ortega, Barcelona). Experimental course on painting and photography with Tat Vila (Escola Massana, 2010). Workshop “Masters of Figuration” with Antonio López (Pamplona, 2010 and 2011). Botanical watercolour with Mary Dillon (2013, 2015, 2017). Botanical illustration with Isik Güner (2018, 2020). Large-format botanical illustration with Billy Showell (London, 2026).
